Hello Sir Knights,
Wave your swords and rejoice; we have another candidate! Now to somehow schedule the work before the summer break. This is the kind of maneuvering that is a pleasant task. Make sure you attend the next two meetings to assist in welcoming our newest Knight.
Soon it will be time to elect new officers. If you have not been present lately, let me assure you that we don’t have enough people to match up to the number of chairs! Eagle Commandery has a long history. Won’t you help us through the lean times? None of us are getting any younger and there always seems to be more activities than time to do them, but if we all disappeared after our trip through the line, there would not be an Eagle Commandery. So, with no more authority than that conferred by the title of my station, as your Commander, I want to see all of you in April. If you also plan to attend the potluck dinner, call me ahead of time so there’s enough to eat.
Only one Inspection is left, in Salem. Sir Knight Crecraft has joined me at all of them and we have enjoyed the friendships, the dinners, and even the floor work. If the price of gas keeps rising, who knows how many will attend next year. Thank you to Bill and the other Knights who have journeyed with us on occasion.
I must also thank all who helped in any way at our Inspection, especially my wife Gwen. There are so many details in putting on this annual show, and when some become transparent, being handled by others, it really makes the day go more smoothly. Our 73 attendees were kept busy and enjoyed a fine dinner supplied by Sandy Zikursh and her crew. Our Inspecting Officer, Sir Knight Weaver was impressed with the work and gave us a good report. The Ladies made blankets for the Linus Project and many conveyed their appreciation for the charitable endeavor. Thank you all again.
The pussywillow buds are out, and I have seen green coming through the ground signaling the first flowers. Our Heavenly Father truly rewards those who endure the Northeast Ohio winters. Spring is definitely my favorite season (maybe because it’s the time of my birthday) and I encourage you all to pay particular attention to the rebirth that surrounds us.

Tom
